Amer Shihab

Another artist I like, that is inspired by the theme of horror is Amer Shihab. I like how he uses very fine strokes of paint to create large paintings, I like the details that go into in his work, as up close it just looks like colourful lines, but when you look at the painting far away they consist of stereotypical horror iconography's. I also like the use of colours that are used within the painting as they are very earthy tones, it made me realise that when painting horror based paintings you do not need stereotypical horror based colours, such as reds and black to give the sinister look that I am going for. I also like how Shihab has given the 'monsters' a humorous looking face, to show that monsters also don't have to be scary to be deemed as evil.
